Strategy
The Paladin is a well rounded class, which focuses on limiting the opponent to pull out their strong monsters, while maintaining their own ability to do so. Many minions of the Paladin revolve around the Divine Shield mechanic to summon a minion and to make it able to negate one instance of damage taken. Divine Shield can also be combined with Taunt to create a board that is hard for the opponent to wipe.

Main Synergies
- Equality can be combined with area of effect cards like Wild Pyromancer, Consecration and Avenging Wrath to clear a whole board of big threats. Note that minions such as Argent Squire and Harvest Golem can survive due to their abilities.
Common Weaknesses
- Many Paladin buff cards can be punished hard by Silence. In addition, Blessing of Kings is often very weak to Big Game Hunter while Argent Protector will buff an opponent`s Blood Knight if the Paladin is not able to use up the Divine Shield immediately.
- Minions debuffed by cards such as Equality and Aldor Peacekeeper can be silenced, restoring their original stats and rendering the debuff useless.
- Minion-based aggro decks are hard to deal with as Paladin due to a lack of efficient early game removal spells.
- Paladin`s hero power (while excellent late in the game in many matchups) is often very slow in the early game and against Hunter`s Unleash the Hounds it may even be a disadvantage to have a 1-1 minion on your side of the board.

Secrets
